Production Technology
Kenji uses plate and acrylic, the collision of traditional and new materials, resulting in a wonderful visual aesthetic. Visualisation of the countertop design makes it both sophisticated and practical. The use of lighting makes the product softer and creates a peaceful atmosphere to sweep away the day's fatigue for those returning home.
Design Challenge
Simple design, not only to reflect the minimalist and clean style, but also the fusion of different materials. It's also hard for materials to collide while combining them in just the right way.
Project Duration
The project started in Shenzhen in February 2023 and completed in Shenzhen in July 2023.
Operation Flow
Kenji can be placed in the corresponding position in the home to meet the needs of different scenes. Pleasing appearance design, clever use of light to create a sense of hierarchy, placed in any position in the home is a beautiful scenery. Lights control according to the product demand settings. Lights come on when bookcase, jewellery cabinet doors are flipped down. The lower part of the bedside table is added with a sensor switch, which lights up automatically when you wake up at night. Humanised design takes care of your health.
Research
According to a survey conducted by a famous German time-study expert, Sevitt, 84% of the people consider themselves to be living in "the age of the rush", and 71.1% of them claim to be "under high mental tension and stress". In the busy and confusing cities, life goes by in seconds, as it always has. Contemporary people's time is cut to the minimum, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non-stop work, daily life is occupied by busyness and anxiety, in urgent need of relaxation and rest time. Kenji creates a warm and relaxing home environment, after a busy day home, enjoy the comfort and pleasure it brings, relax and open a wonderful bedtime!
Inspiration
Kenji draws inspiration from the retro and elegant staff. It can incorporate the staff and light into the furniture. It uses neat striped panels as series design elements to break the monotony of the space, and the square shape echoes, bringing strong order and beauty. When the light turns on, the fingertips stroke, playing a wonderful music of life!
Project Overview
Kenji Light Furniture has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
