Production Technology
The MS 2.0 power bank features a unique circuit board design that allows for simultaneous input and output MagSafe charging wirelessly. The body structure is made from aluminium, which dissipates heat efficiently and charges safely. The product also features a ring of 36 magnets on each side, providing a strong magnetic pull and compatibility with the MagSafe ecosystem.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge in developing the MS 2.0 power bank was the COVID-19 pandemic, which made communication with the factory in mainland China difficult. Additionally, as the first power bank to offer both wireless input and output MagSafe charging at once, the team faced multiple obstacles in developing a new circuit board. However, through perseverance and determination, the team overcame these challenges and successfully realized the design of the MS 2.0 power bank.
Project Duration
The MS 2.0 power bank was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which made communication with the factory in mainland China difficult. The product was launched in Oct 2022 on the crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo and has since gained popularity, selling over 3,000 units in just a few months.
