Production Technology

"COLORFUL" adopts the soft package method, in which the organic texture of clothes and fabrics is applied, and buttons and zippers are used for fixing. "GENTLEMAN" is made of leather. At the same time, the hollow-out effect is designed, and the structure is fixed in the form of concealed buckle and zipper. "FLUFFY" applies the texture and filling method of down jacket to the design of chair clothes. The fabric is smooth and feels smooth, and down cotton is used as the filling inside.

Design Challenge

The research process is complicated. Through a large number of investigations and offline interviews, the current development trend of furniture and the ergonomic structure of chairs are studied, and a large number of data tests are done to meet the comfortable use. At present, there are some problems such as packaging, market, mass production and listing.

Project Duration

The project started in Zhengzhou in March 2021, was completed in Zhengzhou in June 2021, and was exhibited in the exhibition hall in June 2021.

Operation Flow

Users can change their chairs into different clothes according to different seasons and different moods, and change the style and temperament of chairs at will to meet different needs of users.

Research

The development of furniture is inseparable from the fact that the current society is in a changing environment, and the society is in the process of rapid development. With the rapid improvement of modern people's living standards and the increasing spiritual needs, more and more people's demands for accommodation are no longer single functional residence, but more spiritual and cultural pursuits.

Inspiration

The first dress "COLORFUL" adopts the soft package method, which is inspired by the contrasting elements of clothing design, and the organic texture of clothes and fabrics is used in it to increase the sense of visual layering. The second dress "GENTLEMAN", inspired by leather, is made of leather. The third dress "FLUFFY", inspired by the down jacket, applies the texture and filling method of down jacket to the design of chair clothes, giving people a full and comfortable feeling.

Project Overview

Wearing Chair has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
